Meadowmill Sports Centre was the stage for a dominant performance from the Fidra Lions Women’s team on Saturday, as they cruised to an emphatic 11-0 victory over Falkirk & Linlithgow. Under a bright blue sky with a deceptive winter chill, Fidra wasted no time in warming up the scoreboard.
With goals coming from all over the squad, it was less a hockey match and more a well-organized goal-scoring workshop. The Lions pounced early, controlled the midfield, and put on a finishing masterclass that had the opposition wondering if they’d accidentally stepped into a shooting drill.
Credit to Falkirk & Linlithgow, who battled to the end, but there was no stopping Fidra’s attacking force. The only real challenge for the home side seemed to be keeping track of the scorers – a problem the social media admin will no doubt appreciate later.
A superb performance all around, and if Fidra can keep this form up, they might need to start declaring early just to keep things interesting!
